Project Objectives: The goal of this project was to evolve the Being a Reader, First Edition product—part of the Collaborative Literacy suite—to incorporate vocabulary and other aspects of Making Meaning, thus streamlining the product offering. By making these changes, the product as a literacy block competes more effectively with larger publisher offerings in the highly competitive educational market. Previously, Collaborative Classroom had focused primarily on publishing supplemental materials to use in tandem with, or to fill in the gaps of, established competitors’ curricula. Production is currently underway on an expanded grades 3–5 offering.
