Book Cover and Spreads
’Berta worked directly with the author Pranav Iyer (a graduate student) and his parents to bring this extensive encyclopedia of paleontology to publication through crafting both the cover and interior design to not only communicate the information, but to bring the geneology these long-extinct creatures to ‘life’. The aim was to make what could be dense and dry (as a bone) history exciting and visually stimulating for the reader.
This is not a dry A–Z list of prehistoric names. Instead, this encyclopedia takes you deep into the ideas that shape modern dinosaur research: from the methods paleontologists use to unearth and interpret fossils, to the sweeping evolutionary journeys of different clades, to the mysteries of dinosaur behavior and the dramatic events that ended their reign.
Discover how we reconstruct ancient ecosystems, decode bone and find clues, and piece together the story of one of Earth’s most extraordinary chapters—told through the lens of science, not just species.
