This series of logo concepts was developed for the San Francisco Historical Society. One of the themes of the City is its frequent brushes with fire and rising from the ashes, thus the image of the Phoenix. Coit Tower is an iconic image, which was built at the bequest of Lillie Hitchcock in 1933, and was dedicated to the City’s volunteer firefighters, so the combination of the two is a powerful graphic.
